Lot Essay

The Mary Ann was built as a packet ship in Medford, Massachusetts in 1844. She was a full-rigged ship of 496 tons with a length of 133 feet, breadth of 28 feet and a depth of 21. She ran variously from Boston to New Orleans or Boston to Charleston and at least once to Liverpool, England.
