Lot Essay

According to Materson:
It depicts my suicide attempt in about 1985. In the background is my former wife and the little girl on the left is our daughter, who was about 4 years old at the time. I was still drinking heavily at the time and doing coke when I could afford it. This incident led to Marlys filing for divorce. At the time I created the piece I was incarcerated at the maximum security prison in Somers, CT.
