This head of Apollo, depicted with wavy, centrally-parted hair that falls in long tresses on either side of his neck, is a Roman copy of a Greek original of the 4th century B.C., thought to belong to a kitharoidos-type figure. See no. 570 in W. Lambrinudakis et al., “Apollon,” LIMC, vol. II.
