A George III inkstand
of irregular cartouche form, on claw and ball feet and with stamped and applied bead, shell and foliate borders, moulded with a pen rest and with three pierced and engraved beaded circular holders, one with silver-topped cut glass inkwell, another with silver-topped cut glass pounce pot, the third with silver-topped cut glass pen holder, the underside of the inkstand with contemporary presentation inscription, William Plummer, London, apparently with no date letter, the inscription dated 1778 - 7¼in. (18.50cm.), 7.75oz. free.
