Lot Essay

Philip Guston died on June 7, 1980, which was after signing the right to print proof but prior to completion of printing this edition and signing the documentation sheet. On September 16, 1981, the complete edition was numbered by Gemini and embossed with an estate stamp authorized by Guston's widow, Musa.
