Lot Essay

The present work likely depicts a forest interior near the studio of the artist's father, N.C. Wyeth, in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

The proceeds from the sale of this lot will be added to the "Jennie Drew Hinman Memorial Endowment" for the Cardigan Mountain School, Canaan, New Hampshire. Established in 1956, income from the Jennie Drew Hinman Memorial Endowment Fund provides support for financial aid that helps deserving families afford the cost of a Cardigan Mountain School education.
