An Attic black glazed lidded pyxis
the short cylindrical body with black glazed interior, a band in reserve around the base, a lipped rim for the fitted lid, the lid with knop handle -- 3¼in. (8.3cm.) high incl. lid, 5th Century B.C.; and a South Italian gnathia ware pottery 'net' flask, everted collared rim, the body with remains of a white painted lattice-work pattern, a band of chevrons below, the shoulder with meander and the neck with vertical stripes -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high, circa 300 B.C.
