A Daunian pottery double situla
from a Canosan workshop, with central arched ridged handle between the two ovoid bodies, each with flat base and gently flaring rim, decorated with registers of black painted motifs on buff background, including bands of vitruvian scroll, lattice work and circular links, stars and ivy motifs separated by vertical divisions around the lower body, egg-and-dot inside the rims and chevrons over the handle, details and further encircling bands painted in red and pink -- 7 5/8in. (19.4cm.) high, 3rd Century B.C.
