A similar group of Coptic textile fragments
comprising a short coloured band woven with two fish on either side of a bird, framed with borders of multi-coloured blocks, red background and blue outlines -- 5 5/8 x 1 5/8in. (14.2 x 4.2cm.); another band with central frieze of multiple stylized standing figures, each with one arm raised, details woven in mauve on white background -- 7½ x 2 5/8in. (19 x 6.7cm.); a square panel with star motif enclosing central tondo with a stylized horse, rosettes in the corners, wave borders -- 4 3/8 x 4¾in. (11 x 12cm.); and a fragment from a tunic shoulder with clavus and tabulus ornament woven in mauve wool, the shoulder band with frieze of fish motifs, terminating in leaf finials, the square panel alongside enclosing an animal, wave border -- 15½ x 3½in. (39.5 x 9cm.) approx., all circa 8th-10th Century A.D (4)
