An Old Babylonian haematite cylinder seal
with a King bringing an animal offering to Shamash, the sun god, an attendant suppliant goddess with arms raised behind, a monkey and inverted figure in the field, with re-worked two line cuneiform inscription to 'Sarhum, servant of Amurru' -- 1in. (2.6cm.) high, circa 1800-1600 B.C.
