A RARE WHITE-GLAZED CANDLESTICK BASE
SUI DYNASTY (AD 581-618)
The base is moulded with a band of elaborate lotus petals in relief around the foot below horizontal concentric rings, covered on the exterior with a clear crackled glaze of pale greenish-yellow tone. The base is unglazed revealing the greyish-brown buff body.
