AN IRON-RED AND ANHUA-DECORATED ‘HUNDRED BATS BIRTHDAY’ DISH
KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The flat, everted rim is decorated in iron-red with a ‘hundred bats’ border. The interior has thread-relief characters reading hong fu qi tian, which may be translated as “happiness as vast as heaven”.
7 5/8 in. (19.4 cm.) diam.
