Provenance
A 16th-century Italian inscription on the fly-leaf refers to the owner having translated Homer's 'la guerra dei topi e delle rani' i.e. Batracomiomachia into Italian. This inscription has been attributed to Galileo Galilei and his name has been added by a later owner. It is believed that as a young man Galilei translated the Batracomiomachia. The text of the Batracomiomachia is one of the other works included in the volume.
