The work of Claude Lalanne often evokes feelings of surprise and amusement when viewing the juxtaposed surreal creations that no doubt allude to her unique sense of humor. Although, at first glance, her creations may appear odd and unexpected, there is a sense of familiarity provided by her utilization of the people and organic elements commonly found in the world around her. Claude Lalanne’s Petite Fille à la Poule was created using a combination of molding and electroplating that lends itself to a higher level of craftsmanship. A significant part of what distinguishes her from others is the texture-driven richness and the level of detail that this process enables.
