This view is taken from above Stansfeld Bridge and shows the prospect of the Rybur Valley towards Rough Hey House and woods. It appears that the two different perspectives of the Stansfeld estate were painted from the same position, perhaps from the hillside of Nether Ends Beck. This would have allowed the artist to depict his view of Field House from the south and the companion view of Rough Hey woods from the west.
