Souvenir programme for the Festival International 1949 de Jazz at the Salle Pleyel, Paris, 8-15th May 1949, signed on the corresponding interior photo pages by over forty of the musicians who performed at the festival, including Charlie Parker – 'To Cliff, Charlie Parker'at his full page portrait; Sidney Bechet, similarly inscribed 'To Cliff' at his portrait; Miles Davis – 'Good luck to you, Miles Davis'; Max Roach – 'Cliff, Good Luck, Max Roach'; “Hot Lips” Page – 'To my boy “Cliff”, Very Blowingly, “Hot Lips” Page'; Tadd Dameron – 'To Cliff, Don’t B flat, Don’t B sharp, Just B natural, Best Wishes, Tadd Dameron'; Kenny Dorham; Kenny Clarke; Tommy Potter; Don Byas; James moody; Bill Coleman; Russell Moore; Jimmy McPartland; Al Haig; Carlo Krahmer and seven members of his band; together with a loosely inserted printed programme for the festival. The programme belonged to Cliff Anderson, a skilled British Guianan featherweight boxer, who attended the Salle Pleyel on 15 May.

Originally wire-stitched, recently resewn in the original light card cover wraps, 315 x 249 mm. Provenance: Cliff Anderson (1921-1998; British Guianan featherweight boxer) - International Autograph Auctions, Nottingham, 20 September 2014, lot 369.
