It is particularly unusual to find a vernier sextant with electric illumination for reading the scales. Also unusually the inverting sun telescope has a system of locking the draw tube.
Details
An oxidised brass three circle vernier sextant (160mm radius), the index arm signed and numbered 'Salmoiraghi Milano 73245', with swivel magnifier having, unusually for a vernier sextant, electric illumination for the vernier scale via battery in handle, main brass arc with inset silver scale divided 5 -0 -155 , coloured shades to index and horizon mirrors the latter with anti-reflection shade, sun inverting telescope and star binocular with accessories in fitted mahogany carrying box with Lilly & Reynolds certificate dated 20.02.1975 -- 247mm wide
