Lot Essay

Triumph 18,350 tons, measured 630 feet in length with an 80 foot beam, and was armed with 19-40mm. guns and 48-A/C. Launched on 2 October 1944, she was not completed in time for action in the Second World War but served with distinction during the Korean War (1950-53) where, with her sisters Glory, Ocean and Theseus, she proved herself amongst the most successful utility carrier designs ever built. Relegated to duty as a repair ship in 1964, she was finally broken up in Spain in 1982
