A detailed mid 19th century model of the Dutch brig 'Margaretha' built by Josephus Broomsteede, with masts, spars, stun's'l booms and fine standing and running rigging and full suit of paper sails with simulated rope bindings, reefing points and penciled panels, anchors, windlass, belaying rails and pins, companion ways, hatches, deck rings, deckhouse and stove pipe, bell, binnacle and helm and ship's boats in chocks, spare spars and other details, the hull carved from the solid with bow and stern cabin windows and 'gilded' decoration, finished in green, black and white, with white bulwarks, wood stand (some corrosion to metal fittings) -- 16¼ x 20¾in.
