A late 19th Century Presentation Model Pulling/Sailing lifeboat, the wooden hull with samson posts, bottom boards with hatches, foot boards, bilge pump and one way valves, thwarts, oars and rowlocks for five oarsmen a side, collapsible masts, yards with sails, boathook and rudder with yoke, finished in RNLI livery and mounted on two turned brass columns, the walnut base with white metal plaque engraved 'This Model of the Life Boat of the Royal National Life-Boat Institution was presented to Hugh Taylor Esqre by it's Committee and his friend Richard Lewis in acknowledgement of his long and valued co-operation 12th Novr 1870', brass bound glazed cover (later). Measurements overall -- 11¼ x 33½in. (28.5 x 85cm.)
