Thomas Robins the Younger followed in the footsteps of his father, Thomas Robins (1715/16–1770), a Gloucestershire-based artist known for his depictions of country houses and particularly their gardens. Robins the Younger worked on similar subjects, but also on intricate botanical studies such as the present sheet.
