A LARGE PRAYER BOOK
KASHMIR, NORTH INDIA, 18TH CENTURY
Containing 3,750 prayers divided into sections for the days of the week, Arabic manuscript on paper, 215ff. plus four fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of black naskh with words 'Allah' and 'Muhammad' picked out in red, intermittent lines with text reserved against gold clouds with polychrome illuminated panels, set within thick gold rules, catchwords, section titles in gold thuluth, each part beginning with gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece, in contemporaneous gilt binding, the doublures black leather
