Lot Essay

The 1825 Gold Cup at Doncaster was won by Lottery, foaled in 1820 and was by Tramp out of Mandane. The Doncaster Gold Cup was Lottery's finest race which he ran in superb style with G. Nelson up to win from Mr. F. Craven's Longwaist by half a neck, at odds of 13 to 8. Mr. Lumley's Falcon was third, followed by Figaro, Cedric and others.
