Lot Essay

Soiled and game prepared "muddied" baseball as used in Nolan Ryan's sixth career no hit game played on June 11, 1990. The ball has been signed by Ryan across the sweet spot in black ink with additional notations of "#6" and date written in unknown hand. At the age of 43 years old Ryan threw a gem at the Oakland Coliseum against the Athletics to notch his sixth no hitter. Ryan struck out 14 batters and threw 130 pitches total with two walks noted as the only blemish. The ball was one of six retained from game play that day by American League Umpire John Shulock and was signed by Ryan accordingly. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA and letter of provenance from John Shulock: Ball: VG-EX, Signature: EX/MT
