Egon Müller, Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 2005
Mosel
Slightly scuffed wax capsule

Egon Müller has eight hectares in one of the most famous vineyards in the Mosel, Scharzhofberger. Three of these hectares are ungrafted Riesling from the 19th century. The botrytised grapes that are late harvested from this vineyard make up a micro- cuvée Trockenbeerenauslese. Only exceptional vintages, where botrytis occurs, can enable this wine and 100-400 bottles only are bottled. Virtually no magnums ever appear, to find one at auction is incredibly rare.
