the case naturalistically modelled as a rocky outcrop, with panels of glass inset in the base simulating pools of water, flanked by a seated gentleman playing the harp, on rectangular plinth with tracery gallery mounts and stiff leaf cast border, on Gothic tracery feet, the dial with black painted Roman chapters and engine-turned centre, steel moon hands, within snake clasp bezel, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 17¼in. (44cm.) high
