the hood with dentil carved swan neck pediment terminating in flowerhead caps, outset stop-fluted columns, conforming pilasters flanking the wavy-top trunk door, the plinth with simulated brickwork to the angles and on associated bun feet, the brass dial with painted rolling moonphase in the arch, signed AICKIN LURGAN above, scrolling foliate spandrels, subsidiary seconds ring (lacks hand) and calendar aperture to the elaborately engraved centre, replaced seatboard to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor ecsapement; case and dial associated, restorations -- 91in. (231cm.) high
