A gold and enamel open faced pocket watch, circa 1795,
white enamel dial with letter numerals forming the name Wiliam Bankes, winding hole at 6 O'clock, gold spade hands, fusee movement signed Jefferys & Jones, London, 885, with replaced lever escapement, pierced balance cock with diamond endstone, the vertically hinged case decorated with a panel of deep blue translucent enamel over an engine turned ground, deep blue enamel border decorated with white dots, similarly decorated bezel, diameter 40mm.
