A French native, Paul Lacroix moved to New York City in 1859, where he exhibited at the National Academy of Design and Brooklyn Art Association. Lacroix possibly worked as an apprentice in the New York studio of Severin Roesen. His work is in prominent public collections, including the Brooklyn Museum and Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid.
