Oval with Greek key and beaded border to the upper rim, with beaded handles springing from ram's heads, on a conforming oval foot with Greek key border, the stepped domed cover surmounted by an heraldic finial of a griffin holding a scallop shell on a chapeau, the body later engraved EL from IAL JUNE 7TH 1893, marked on underside with 550 Broadway mark and numbered 472-5049
