Lot Essay

Like the drawing in the previous lot, this sheet was also part of a now disbound album of drawings of the series Sole figure vestite. Several similar drawings are in the collection of the Princeton University Art Museum (see for example, inv. x1948-827; C. Whistler, in Italian Master Drawings from the Princeton University Art Museum, Princeton, 2014, no. 79, ill.).
