This sheet depicts the tunnel built by the Romans to stabilize the waters of Lake Albano. This was an impressive hydraulic achievement and the site attracted tourists and artists alike. The same site was depicted also by Giovanni Battista Piranesi in one of his prints. Another sketch by Labruzzi of the same composition is at the Tate Gallery in London (T10992).
