Lot Essay

This large drawing reproduces the famous painting of the Last Communion of Saint Jerome by Agostino Carracci. The altarpiece was done for the church of Santa Maria della Certosa in Bologna and is now in the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna (inv. 462).
