It is rare to find this model in a plain white glaze. A related hound is illustrated in Courtly Display: The Somlyo Collection of Japanese Ceramics, London, 2015, pp. 52-53; and a seated white-glazed Arita hound is published by Vincent L'Herrou in Kakiemon: Une Europe sous L'influence du Japon a Travers La Porcelaine aux 17eme et 18eme Siecles Collection Privees, p. 59; and another in "La Maladie de Porcelaine" East Asian Porcelain from the Collection of Augustus the Strong, p. 29, fig. 95.
