Lot Essay

This beautiful lady’s white gold Pagoda is, to the best of our knowledge, one of only a dozen examples known to have appeared in public in the last 27 years. Excitingly for collectors, the present watch is accompanied by the original Certificate of Origin confirming the rose dial with diamond hour markers and bearing Patek Philippe’s date code for 1997.

Patek Philippe introduced reference 4900 in 1997 in a limited edition of 500 examples in yellow gold, 150 in pink gold and 100 in white gold. This lady's model was manufactured in conjunction with the men's Pagoda reference 5500 to celebrate the inauguration of the Patek Philippe watchmaking centre at Plan-Les-Ouates in Geneva.
