Lot Essay

See a larger blue and white figure of Xuanwu (46 cm high), with a Wanli mark, from the F. Gordon Morill collection and now in the collection of the MFA Boston (accession number 1979.785).
Compare to a very similar model in the Falk Collection, sold at Christie's New York, 20 September 2001, lot 147, another one sold at Christie's London, 13 May 2014, lot 352.
