Lot Essay

Stylistically, the foliate scroll design on the present vase can be compared with the foliate scrolls on a blue overlay white ground bowl in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Zhongguo meishu quanji - Gongyi meishu bian, 10, Beijing, 1987, p. 145, no. 271.
