Lot Essay

The present lot may be compared with an opaque pale blue glass bottle vase of similar size and shape, illustrated by C.F. Shangraw and C. Brown, A Chorus of Colors: Chinese Glass from Three American Collections, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, 1995, no. 51; and a slightly smaller pink glass vase of similar shape (37 cm. high), inscribed with a Qianlong four-character mark, sold at Christie's New York, 29 November 1990, lot 106.
