Lot Essay

My name is Artur Alexanian, the creative force behind Alexanian Eyewear Atelier in The Netherlands. While I am a modest watch collector, my passion for horology knows no bounds. By trade, I am a goldsmith, and nearly a year ago, an idea was born at a watch fair. There, I had the pleasure of meeting fellow collectors, only to notice that many of them were using similar, often plastic, loupes. This sparked a desire within me to craft something truly exceptional—an elegant and functional tool that reflects my expertise and deep appreciation for fine timepieces.

After many designs and prototypes, I embarked on creating a loupe that would not only be a collector's essential but also a work of art. The result is a meticulously handcrafted 18k solid gold loupe, featuring an unconventional size and intricate design elements. Drawing inspiration from the intricate movements of timepieces, I approached the project with the same precision and artistry that defines high-end watchmaking.

After over 300 hours of dedicated craftsmanship, I am proud to introduce the ‘Piece Unique Loupe’—an objet d'art for discerning watch collectors. This piece, crafted from 18k white gold, boasts a blend of satin, diamond-hammered (a technique requiring nearly 80 hours), polished, beveled, and ice-matte finishes—each contributing to its striking aesthetic and superior functionality.
