Bouquet de fleurs reflects the beautiful friendship between Pablo Picasso, Margaret Silberman and Jacqueline Roque. Picasso composes a charming bouquet of flowers and decorates the ribbon with Margaret's name, whilst Jacqueline writes the couple's well wishes on an adjoining card: 'Que ces fleurs t’apportent notre amour, Jacqueline'. Both the composition and the inscription display the affection that Picasso and his wife, Jacqueline, held for their dear friend Margaret, who was one of the artist's most committed dealers. Opening the Picasso Arts gallery in New York, she developed a life long friendship between the artist and his iconic muse.
