Comprising a central white gemstone-set gold mount shaped like a flower within a crescent, linked on each side to four narrow rectangular gem-set mounts, at each end a floral mount, the reverse enamelled with depictions of birds, a pearl fringe suspended below, overall very good condition

Lot Essay

A historic photograph of a brahmin woman in Pushkar shows her wearing a choker necklace very similar to this lot, as well as head ornaments also made up of narrow long mounts attached to one another with chains of pearl beads (Oppi Untracht, Traditional Jewelry of India, London, 1997, fig.281).
