A DIAMOND AND GEM-SET GOLD HEADPIECE NORTH INDIA, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY The central mount with a foiled white gemstone set within a ring of pearls, with twelve gold cruciform units to each side with suspended gold beads, in the middle with two foiled pink rubies in gold mounts with pearl surround, cord, overall very good condition 7 3/8in. (18.8cm.) long
Similar plain gold ball pendants appear on a small group of necklaces in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York which were acquired by the collection in 1915 (see for example acc.no.15.95.61, attributed to Rajasthan).
