Descriptif du lot

The exaggerated postures and poses of the prince and his courtiers is typical of the mid 18th century Kishangarh painting style established by Nihal Chand (1710-82). Maharaja Vijay Singh ruled Marwar for just a year from 1752-53 before he was deposed by Maharaja Ram Singh. Upon Ram Singh's death in 1772, Vijay Singh re-took the throne and ruled until 1793.
