with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced snout, brown stitched nose and mouth, swivel head, long jointed shaped limbs, felt pads, rod jointing and button in ear --19in. (48cm.) tall, circa 1904 (small hole to lower right arm, overall wear to mohair)

Lot Essay

Although little is known about Strunz, they were clearly influenced by Steiff and produced copies of Steiff products adopting the similar trade mark of the button in left ear. Steiff took legal action against the Company and patented the button in left ear as their own trade mark.
