Lot Essay

The rectangular seal is of square cross-section with well-polished sides, surmounted by a finial in the form of a powerful seated lion with curly mane.
The base is incised with thirteen characters in seal script, reading wuhuama qianjinqiu huerjiangchuhuanmeijiu, excerpted from a poem by Li Bai. The stone is of a rich honey tone.
