Permission for Hans von Bülow to go on holiday. 'I hereby grant my orchestra leader [Vorspieler] Hans von Bülow a vacation for an indefinite period with the addition that he may freely choose his place of residence at his own discretion during this vacation', though von Bülow is to keep the king informed of his whereabouts and 'is to be available for service in Munich at any time upon my call'.

Hans von Bülow (1830-1894) was appointed Kapellmeister in Munich in 1864, in which capacity he conducted two Wagner premieres (Tristan und Isolde in 1865 and Die Meistersinger in 1868). His wife Cosima was by this time carrying out a public affair with Wagner, having given birth to their daughter Isolde in the previous year.
