To accompany and celebrate this event taking place in New York City, Patek Philippe unveiled a couple limited-edition models such as the present lot reference 5522A-001 Calatrava Pilot 'New York 2017 Special Edition'. Limited to only 600 examples for the American market, the watch quickly sold out and has become a collector favored model due to its unusual features.

Seldom seen in Patek Philippe watches, the watch has an automatic movement with sweep center seconds without the inclusion of a date. This style for unknown reasons is rarely seen in Patek Philippe watches and adds to its allure. The watch is also large and sporty featuring a 42 mm. stainless steel case. The sapphire caseback has a holographic etching that reads 'Patek Philippe New York 2017', further emphasizing the exclusivity of the watch.
