更多詳情
Taxile Doat's La Musique et la Danse vase was showcased at the 1903 Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. That same year, the Société du Bibelot commissioned 45 vases of this design at 150 francs each. Each vase was marked with a number on its underside, and the present example is numbered '33', indicating its inclusion in this specific order. Other vases from this order were acquired by prominent collectors, including Charles Lebeau, Roger Marx, and Samuel Bing. Today, two vases from this order are housed in the permanent collections of the Musée de Sèvres and the Musée de Boulogne-sur-Mer.
We would like to thank Amélie Marcilhac, working on a forthcoming monography on the artist, for her assistance with the cataloguing of this lot.
