the brick red tiered coffer painted with gilt bands of dentil, wheels and swags of fruit, applied with silver strapwork mounts, vacant rectangular compartment in cover, containing nineteen vessels and implements related to writing and the toilette, the interior of the hinged cover fitted with a mirror, the removable upper layer fitted with a silver-gilt square inkwell and sander, ruler, paperknife, steel-bladed pen knife, quill holder, small hand seal, funnel, two oval boxes and domed covers, the covers chased and cold enameled in color with strapwork, two smaller circular boxes and two ruby glass bottles with covers similarly decorated, four small faceted ruby glass bottles with engine-turned silver-gilt stoppers and a silver-gilt mounted ruby glass small bowl, oval boxes and circular boxes marked on undersides with maker and town marks
