signed on the hour ring W. & S. JONES Holburn, LONDON, with folding spring-loaded gnomon, the latitude arc engraved 0°-60°, the compass box with silvered dial, the blued needle with agate cap on pivot with clamp, level and cross-bubble, the scale divided in four quadrants, on three adjustable feet, in the original plush-lined fishskin-covered case (the lid later engraved) -- 7 3/8in. (18.7cm.) wide
